Culture for One youth Nickson and Marissa joined acclaimed artist and Culture for One Arts Ambassador Mark Bradford onstage at Hauser & Wirth’s Learning Exchange: Artists Matter event in Los Angeles. The program explored how artists can help build mentorship pathways, strengthen community partnerships, and expand arts access for young people.
Since partnering in 2023, Hauser & Wirth has provided Culture for One youth with extraordinary arts experiences, including artist-led conversations and workshops, as well as private gallery tours.

Culture for One was highlighted as one of the organizations in the country connecting children in foster care to the arts in a meaningful way. Robin Abbott, along with two of our youth, Aiana and Kym, was featured in the May/June issue of Fostering Families Today. The feature explores the impact of Culture for One’s programming on youth, as well as the broader power of the arts for children in foster care.
New York Road Runners Names Culture for One as Official Charity Partner of the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon
New York Road Runners (NYRR), the nonprofit that “runs” New York City, has named Culture for One an Official Charity Partner of the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, taking place Sunday, Nov. 1.
For the first time, Culture for One—a nonprofit that provides New York City children in foster care with access to the arts—will participate as an Official Charity Partner, with three runners raising funds in support of its mission. The organization proudly welcomes Brian Dratch, Nicki Gold, and Chrissy Kim as its official runners, united in expanding access to meaningful arts experiences for children in foster care across the city.
CULTURE FOR ONE TO HONOR ROBERT E. WANKEL AT FALL GALA
Culture for One will present Robert E. Wankel, Chairman and CEO of The Shubert Organization and Chairman of The Shubert Foundation, with the 2026 Culture for One Inspiration Award at its Annual Gala on Monday, October 5 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.
Mr. Wankel’s lifelong commitment to making the arts accessible embodies Culture for One’s mission to transform the lives of children in foster care through arts-based programming.
The Gala will feature live performances by Culture for One program participants. Funds raised at the event will further expand Culture for One's arts-based programming which empowers children in care to build resilience, forge meaningful connections, and envision brighter futures.
Bergdorf Goodman Honored by Culture for One
Women’s Wear Daily highlighted Culture for One’s 15th Anniversary Gala, held on Monday, November 3, at the Edison Ballroom. The evening raised more than $350,000 to support the organization’s Arts Scholarships, Cultural Excursions, and Creative Workshops for children in foster care.
Harold Koda, former Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Culture for One board member, presented the Inspiration Award to Melissa Xides of Bergdorf Goodman in recognition of the company’s transformative partnership and ongoing support of Culture for One’s mission.

Michelle Obama expressed her admiration for Culture for One after meeting a group of our youth arts program participants at a Hauser & Wirth’s Workshop. The former First Lady shared her experiences on her Facebook page.
