William A. Brandt, Jr. Achievement Award 

An annual award for a Culture for One program participant who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments through their engagement with the arts. 

Established in 2021, the award honors the late William A. ‘Bill’ Brandt, Jr., a highly respected business leader and pioneer, passionate patron of the arts, devoted family man, and fierce advocate for children. Together with his wife, Patrice Bugelas-Brandt, the Brandt’s generosity was transformative for our organization.

Award candidates are considered based on the following:

  • Successful completion of an art study program or project, demonstrating commitment to their craft.

  • Recognition of the youth’s promise and dedication from their instructors.

  • A notable use of the arts to address and overcome challenges and trauma.

Award Recipients

  • Solomon

    A Culture for One program participant since 2014, Solomon is a Cum Laude graduate of Marist University, Class of 2025, with a degree in computer science.

    “My family always takes joy in seeing me succeed in my life. I do hope to grow as a person as I interact with more people and experience new settings. My newfound family has brought me this far in my life, it wouldn’t be fair to disappoint them now.”

  • Kymberli

    A Culture for One participant since 2019, Kym is now a talented actress studying theater at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Kym has been a generous and inspiring spokesperson for Culture for One. She is a member of Culture for One’s Young Professional Board and a talented actress studying theater at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

    “There are so many small things that make art inaccessible on so many levels. Culture for One has helped break down those barriers for me and I truly think I’m the luckiest girl on earth to have CFO as my community.”

  • Nickson

    A Culture for One program participant since 2021, Nickson is currently a student at CCNY majoring in Architecture. Nickson is also an accomplished musician.

  • Aiana

    A Culture for One program participant since 2017, Aiana is currently working at Phillips Auction House and is a talented writer, artist and performer.

  • Rebecca

    A Culture for One program participant since 2017, Rebecca is currently studying singing through our Arts Scholarship program and has a passion for sailing. She is currently preparing to become a skipper this Spring/Summer season.
