On Monday, November 3, 2025, Culture for One will celebrate 15 years of bringing the transformative power of the arts to NYC children in foster care.
At the event, Harold Koda, former Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Culture for One board member, will present the Culture for One Inspiration Award to Melissa Xides, Chief Retail Officer of Bergdorf Goodman, in recognition of the company’s generous support and partnership over the past three years.

Spring ReceptioN
JUNE 9, 2025
Our Spring Reception at Christie's featured a private viewing of 'Maurice Sendak: Artist, Collector, Connoisseur'—offering guests a rare glimpse into the beloved creator's remarkable personal collection. The evening celebrated our meaningful partnership with Christie's, which opens doors for children in foster care to experience the transformative power of art. Culture for One participants Aiana and Rebecca shared moving stories of how Culture for One has transformed their lives and the impact their mentors have had on their life trajectories. Over cocktails, we witnessed firsthand how art creates lasting change, one young person at a time.
YPB SPRING EVENT
MAY 1, 2025
Our largest and most successful Young Professionals Board (YPB) event brought many new friends and colleagues to the Carton House, infusing new energy and passion into our community.
Funds raised through tickets, raffle tickets, and a silent auction will send 25 children to summer arts camp.

YPB FALL EVENT
NOVEMBER 27, 2024
The YPB 2024 Fall Event launched our first annual Holiday 5k Run/Walk and kicked off a Giving Tuesday social media campaign. 85 participants began the 5K at Bluestone Lane at Chelsea Piers, which generously donated coffee, and ended at Monk McGinns, which generously donated space and a first round of drinks.
Donations raised funded 19 Cultural Excursions for 197 children!

FALL GALA
OCTOBER 21, 2024
Our 2024 Fall Gala at the Edison Ballroom in New York City honored Manuela Wirth, Chairwoman & President of Hauser & Wirth, for her commitment to learning and for welcoming our young people into her gallery’s world of art.
Nickson Frederick received the William A. Brandt, Jr. Achievement Award for his outstanding accomplishments academically and in the arts.
The Gala featured a student art gallery, a Chopin composition played by Nickson, and performance by 14-year-old Deanna, an aspiring vocalist.
