CREATIVE ARTS WORKSHOPS

The CREATIVE ARTS WORKSHOPS PROGRAM brings the arts directly to children in residential foster care. Workshops are designed and led by clinically trained art therapists and professional teaching artists. Most workshops are created to work as part of a series and address specific needs, such as building empathy and peer support. We provide workshops in art, music, creative writing, jewelry design, dance, photography, and podcast-making, serving children at our 14 partner agencies: Good Shepherd Services (all 7 locations), Abbott House, Children’s Aid Society, Forestdale Inc. , Friends of the Children NY, Heartshare St Vincent, JCCA (all locations), The Administration for Children’s Services, New York Foundling, Sheltering Arms, City Living NY, and the Catholic Guardian.

Being in foster care made those rooms extremely hard for me to get in to... until I was introduced to Culture for One. I wasn’t alone anymore.
Through them, I have met the most amazing people who are super passionate about foster children and the arts and that is so refreshing to me...I have found my people.”
